In case you haven’t heard, a new study from the Harvard School of Public Health shows that caffeine-drinking coffee-guzzling women have a lower risk of depression.
No, I’m not making this up!
Here are some highlights from the study:
- Women who drink two to three cups of coffee per day are 15% less likely to develop depression compared to those who drink a maximum of one cup of per week.
- Women who drink at least four cups per day have a 20% lower risk of depression than the “one cup per week” group.
I know, I’m getting carried away. But can you blame me? After all, it’s Friday.
Have you had your four cups today?
[I was going to blog about prayer today, but I got side tracked. I know. Excuses, excuses. So I’m hitting prayer hard next week. Will you join me? You can bring your coffee!]

Yay! And what about us men? We need less depression from coffee, too! Or, maybe the thing is that those of us who are coffee snobs are more upbeat and fun and optimistic to begin with. What do you think?
Dang, wish I drank the stuff. I could use a good cuppa joe right about now.
Coffee is good to us women. I think it also prevents kidney stones. Well, the acid eats away calcium deposits which sounds terrible but who wants kidney stones? :) Have a great weekend.
Wow -- I need to go drink a couple more cups! Great news. (I'll be back next week, Susan!)
Truth be told, I think coffee is good for everyone, including men. (Ok, maybe not children. They don't need the caffeine.)
so that's why I'm always in good spirits on the days I have my coffee ;) - thanks for encouraging my habit!
